Health Fair~

I have filled in at the Health Dept for quite a few years now, and the last few years they have closed the office so I could also help out at the annual Health Fair they put on - this is their 25th year of organizing this event. I took some pictures for them of some of the different booths that participated. There was a good turnout - approximately 30-35 different booths, plus different doctors that each gave short 1/2 hour sessions of various topics. In one of the Health Dept booths, we kept busy handing out blood profile results to those that had their blood drawn in the previous 2 weeks. Getting those results are always a big highlight of the Health Fair! There was also an interpretation area for any readings of concern.

Some of the Health Dept staff setting up for the Brunch :)Every booth had a drawing at the end of the day...

Blood profile results...remembering our ABC's by the end of the day got to be quite challenging for some!! This was a record year...1937 blood draws taken! Safe kids, Safe Communities... This was the Highway Dept's first year at our fair...

Off with the old...

It is healing nicely...
Good flexibility....
On with the new.... A waterproof cast...yay!Blue this time!

3 more weeks to go!

So precious to my heart...

I was browsing in Kmart yesterday evening, when I got a call from Tiff and we chatted for awhile. Pretty soon she noticed Taylor was out of bed. After telling her she could stay up for just a little while longer, Tiffani asked Taylor if she'd like to talk to Gramma Lou...she loves Tiff's new cell phone! "Hello, Gramma!" she said in her cute little way, and then proceeded to jabber on, and pushing numbers, saying "Hello Gramma?" each time she pushed a number a time or two. Tiff had told me earlier that Taylor knows her ABC's and counts to 10, so I asked Taylor if she could sing her ABC's to me...she said "Noooo!" (in her cute little way)... Instead, she started to sing Jesus Loves Me. By this time I had gotten to the linen aisle, so I just stopped and listened to her sing. After a little while, I started to sing with her. She stopped singing, tho, and just listened to me. When I finished singing, I asked her if that was the way it goes, and she kept saying "again!"...so I sang it again...3 more times :)
Taylor and Hannah are both growing so fast...it will be fun to see them again!

More shop work...

~It was too cold to work on trees this weekend, so we decided to get a little more done in the shop~
Alex was putting together a corner section workbench...we got a real good bargain on some workbenches at the Attic thrift shop...$5 - $10 each :)
Austin and a buddy are "tearing apart/fixing up" the little Geo Prizm car that Tiff got for graduation ~ Ashley and Austin also used it...it's been through a lot!! Here he's putting the back seat over against the wall.
Alex is insulating...
Leaving the wiring exposed for the electrical inspection...

Someday soon hopefully we'll be able to park in that half of the shop!
